Wing to Wing and Oar to Oar
After a year and a handfull of dating, we can no
longer imagine our lives separate from one
another, and even sometimes wonder how we
ever got along before.
~
How we met
Several fantastic dances together at that fateful
Apollo Jump swing dance and we were both intrigued.
But a bluesy Mardi Gras celebration at Black Eyed Sally's
in Hartford, CT was when we realized were in
danger of deep smit.
A month later, Joe's departure for five months of training
cemented our resolve and challenged us to create our
relationship intentionally.
The Proposal
On our anniversary, after a fantastic dinner at our
favorite oyster bar, Vito's in Hartford, Joe handed across
a gift bag. It contained a wrapped book with secret
compartments containing an engagement ring and a wedding band.
The book was titled: "Isle of View"
then we danced to Frank Sinatra in the aisles and
enjoyed champagne sent over from a neighboring table.
The future
We are looking forward to the wedding, and
hopefully soon a house and a dog.
Kids will just have to wait!
~
...Two such as you with such a master speed
Cannot be parted nor be swept away
From one another once you are agreed
That life is only life Forevermore
Together wing to wing and oar to oar.
-Robert Frost
